Prestigious City of London venue, Middle Temple, is offering brides and grooms a fantastic 15% discount on venue hire packages for weekend weddings taking place from January- March 2015, and *remaining dates in November and December 2014! On top of this Middle Temple is generously including all furniture hire and the use of its silver candelabras. Licensed to hold both weddings and civil partnerships Middle Temple provides the perfect backdrop to a dream wedding combining stunning historic features with beautiful secluded grounds.

Middle Temple boasts one of the finest Elizabethan Halls in the country; providing an impressive setting to host a wedding breakfast for between 80- 300 guests. The wedding party will be in good company following generations of royalty from Elizabeth I to Prince William. Middle Temple also makes a fabulous venue for proposals; it’s the location where Mark Darcy popped the question to Bridget Jones in The Edge of Reason. 

With views across the River Thames, weddings and civil partnership ceremonies can be hosted in the sophisticated Queen’s Room which can accommodate 50 guests or the Parliament Chamber which can accommodate 75 guests. The Prince’s Room reflective of a grand country house drawing room with honeyed oak panelling is ideal for intimate dinners and receptions for up to 100 guests.

Middle Temple Announces Grand Re-opening of the Rutledge Suite

Following a considerable AV and WiFi upgrade, Middle Temple, just a moment away from Embankment and two from The Strand, is re-opening the entire Rutledge Suite with a Grand Champagne Breakfast launch on Friday 31st October 2014 from 8.00am-10.00am.

The Suite comprises an entire floor of 7 rooms which can be configured in a number of ways for daytime conferences, meetings, lunches and events for up to 60 delegates. Lunch can be taken in adjoining break-out rooms or in the grand Elizabethan Hall below which serves a delicious 3 course meal.

The Rutledge Suite has a calming yet studious feel with book lined walls and plenty of natural light. The resident high quality WiFi service will enable many devices to connect to the internet at any one time. The Audio Visual and computing services allow presenters to simply connect a USB device or load DVD’s/CD’s for full screen overhead presentations or to edit on the fly with state of the art software and in-house technology.

Sales and marketing manager Lorraine Butler said: ‘The Rutledge Suite enables organisers to use Middle Temple for board meetings or day long conferences, adding another string to our event capabilities. We will also be revealing our new DDR rates and menus for Autumn/Winter and 2015.’

Down Hall Country House Hotel Hires New General ManagerĀ

Andrew Oxley joins independently owned Down Hall Country House Hotel near Bishop’s Stortford as general manager, following a successful five years at the Coppid Beech Hotel. The new role will see Andrew drive brand standards and ensure revenue and expenditure is in line with budget. Responsible for the day to day management of the hotel and its employees Andrew will motivate the team and ensure the smooth running of events and hotel stays.  

Andrew Oxley, general manager, Down Hall Country House Hotel said:  “I am delighted to join the hotel at this very exciting phase and time of positive change. The £1.5 million refurbishment of 71 bedrooms, including state of the art kitchen and the installation of a hi-tech gymnasium has finished and the meeting room’s refurbishment is close to completion, ready for our launch party in April. I look forward to working alongside the team to grow the business and continue to provide guests with first class service.”

Andrew has over 15 years’ experience in the hospitality industry working for both independent and chain hotels including Macdonald Bath Spa, Oakley Court, Tylney Hall and Hartwell House & Spa. Andrew will take up his position at Down Hall on 7th April 2014.
