Case Study: Digitalize

Client: Max WiFi
Campaign: Digitalize (part of a three month PR campaign)
Brief: A collaborative event to showcase the range of products and services available from Max WiFi, White Space Productions and Tobacco Dock.
Objectives:
  • Effectively showcase the products and services available from Max WiFi and White Space Productions, while positioning Tobacco Dock as the events destination for parties, exhibitions and conferences able to provide the latest technology to take events to the next level
  • To create a relaxed format for the event, giving it unique offering from previous technology focused industry events which included lengthy presentations
  • Create new business leads
Action:
Big Wednesday decided that in order to fully showcase the services available from Max WiFi an interactive and engaging event needed to be created. It was agreed that the format of the event should take on a more relaxed approach to attract the right audience and differentiate it from previous technology focused seminars and presentations.
For guests to have an added value experience it was decided that Max WiFi should collaborate with other industry partners, so Tobacco Dock (where Max                    WiFi had recently installed a communications Wi-Fi infrastructure) and White Space Productions were brought on board. To allow for a greater experience Big          Wednesday brought in additional suppliers Luma, Eventstagram and Excelerated Apps, carefully selecting them as the products and services offered                              complemented those by Max WiFi and weren’t in direct competition and would enrich the experience of attendees.

At the heart of the campaign was creating an engaging environment, which would allow guests to remember the services fondly. Often organisers hear about             the latest technology or watch demos, but rarely get the opportunity to experience first-hand interaction; with Digitalize they could.

Social media strategy was produced for the campaign to create a buzz in the run up to event and utilise it at the event itself, and after it to keep the conversation         alive. Big Wednesday also handled the invite design, invited industry press and secured post event coverage.
Results:
  • Coverage in publications reaching 27,000 readers and editorial value over £9,000
  • Online coverage in industry publications reaching 210,339 unique users
  • #Digitalize reached over 16,000 people generating 32,363 impressions
  • Images shared via Eventstagram reached 867 people
Jonathan Read, Commercial Director, Tobacco Dock said: “The vision for Digitalize was fantastic and we are delighted to have hosted the event at Tobacco Dock and demonstrate the fact that the venue now has one of the best data communications facilities in the UK. It was a great opportunity to meet with industry colleagues and for both existing and potential clients to experience this unique space.”
